I hope they keep the 2006 concert footage to a minimum and show us the older clips of the band in their classic years, circa '65-'73. I don't mind some newer concert footage interspersed throughout, but it'd be a much better doc if it focuses on the life of the band and its music.

Oh I agree. I hope it's more of a "No Direction Home" than anything else. If they cut back to present day footage fine, but yea I hope it's a life story

I doubt I'll get to see it theatrically, but I definitely would like to check this out.

I kind of wanted a straight-forward doc about the Stones career, Swinging London, etc. but Scorsese should be able to do something really good with this

If it's anything like the Last Waltz, I'm gonna be disappointed. I really don't wanna see Scorsese do the same doc format with another band; I'm hoping he brings something fresh to the table with this one. Given that it's Scorsese, I don't know why I'm worried. Possibly because it's the Rolling Stones of 2006.

Agreed. I love Last Waltz, but I don't want this to be a copy of that film.
