Someone sent me a dvd that I don't really want, so I'm going to try to exchange it for something that I'd actually want. I'd like something really classic and good, but that I'll want to watch on repeat viewings. I also don't want something too obvious like the Godfather.

I'll just name some random films that I've enjoyed: Children of Men, Sin City, Chinatown, Sideways, Raging Bull, The Deer Hunter, Gosford Park, Lost in Translation, Donnie Darko, Royal Tenenbaums, the Sergio Leone stuff.
My DVD collection is pretty small, I probably own less than 10 or 15 films. I've been a huge renter but I'd like to buy something I haven't already seen. I'd like a classic but I'm also interested in less-mainstream things like Le Samouraï or something.

The Big Sleep Maltese Falcon The Sting Cool Hand Luke
The Big Sleep and The Sting look really good, I'm going to bump them up on my list. I've been meaning to see Maltese Falcon for a long time. I downloaded Cool Hand Luke when I was at college 3 years ago but don't know what ever happened to it. Probably deleted it when I was overloading my HD with porn.

12 monkeys or
PI
I rented 12 Monkeys years ago and I didn't really like it, but I think that was just my young age. I'm definitely going to check out Pi though, I liked Requiem for a Dream and I thought the Fountain looked good even though it got bad reviews and I didn't end up seeing it.

Psycho...or The Birds
I really liked the Birds when I rented it a long time ago. I'm almost positive I saw Pyscho when I was little but can't remember much. I really like Hitchcock though, Rear Window is one of my favorites. I've been planning on getting Vertigo or North by Northwest for a long time.

I think I'm going to revisit 12 Monkeys at some point. I think I was just too young to appreciate it and I didn't really know what to expect at the time.
