These guys are a fantastic outfit that I've discovered recently. They've only got one proper album, that's their 2005 self titled debut, but they've released a few other things as well. They did a split album with Angels of Light, which has some of their best material, and a "special album" called Meek Warrior, which is like a longer EP with some cool stuff as well..

Most importantly, they've got a new album coming out this year. Their self/titled is their best release, but they started doing some really cool stuff on the split and Meek Warrior that should be fantastic in the context of a proper second album. So, hype.

King probably hates this band.

A/F border on super intriguing and annoying for me, but unlike Animal Collective, i love a good chunk of their stuff.

they're fantastic live too.

wasn't too big on Meek Warrior (far as i know it was considered a full length, the songs are pretty long). and yeah, the Angels split is my favorite too.

"Dylan pt. 2" and "Raising The Sparks" are just monumental songs.

I haven't really been able to get into them, but so far I'm digging the new album.

The debut is easily their best album, I think. I mean shit, it's not even close. for a debut album, it's incredibly fully formed and developed. I don't know, there's definitely something there that hasn't been around since. Songs like "I'll Be On The Water" and "Afford" are incredibly affecting in a way the band hasn't even come close to accomplishing since that album. they've kind of turned to shit since then if you ask me. The split with Angels of Light had some really sweet shit on there, but Meek Warrior and Love Is Simple just sound gimmicky. I like the style, but they haven't done anything new with it since the split. It just sounds the same, and not as good. I mean, I realize they've only been around since 05 and complaining about lack of growth since then is kind of stupid, but they've put out nearly 4 albums worth of material, and only two of them are very distinctive.

sorry for this long rambling incoherent post. But like Echoes said, "Running, Returning" fucking kills.

Not if you don't have everything else they've done. But if you like the band then sure. "There's So Many Colors" is an amazing song.

Great band. I'm a big Michael Gira fan, so I think the Angels of Light split is my favorite of the two, but the debut is right up there. There's some cool stuff on YouTube, I recommend checking it out.

Their self titled is one of my very favorite records this decade, to be sure. For the most part I still stand by what I've said earlier in this thread, though I've realized that Love Is Simple has some very good songs...just kinda overly long and just not even close to as good as their first record.
