Kevin Costner is a wha?!?!

A serial killer?!?!?

Seriously, this was a gem that I expected to be a piece of coal. I saw this movie last night and was pleasantly surprised by the acting, plot, cinematography and gore. I had never heard of it but my friend gave me a DVD of .avi's to watch. I will actually buy this when it comes out (if it isn't already). I thought Costner was a tremendously convincing psychopath. His co-star (Dan Cook?) was tolerable but played such a small (but important) role that it was forgiveable. The central theme is a recovering serial killer trying to deal with work/family life and the reocurrance of the urges. Childfucker Demi Moore is the female lead and has few enough lines that you don't become nauseated because of her one dimensional acting ability.

Seriously, rent this movie.

i thought costner was extremely boring, he just stood there the whole time without making any expressions. there were way too many plots going on at once, it would have been better had they focused the movie on the costner/dane cook plot instead of all that ridiculous stuff about his daughter maybe also being a killer and then yet another killer after demi moore who's also getting a divorce. come on now. costner wants it to be a trilogy but i don't think it did well enough at the box office to warrant sequels.

I think Costner's character was supposed to be that one dimensional. His alter-ego is the one who gets worked up. It could have been a little less convoluted but it really kept my interest. Diff'rent strokes I guess.

I'd never even heard of it until this weekend. I had no idea it had a theatrical release. I would still recommend it. In hindsight, I may have been overly enthusiastic because a movie I've never heard of actually entertained me. It's a nice surprise when you go into something with no expectations and get a good dose of blood and violence.

I'll check this out because I'm a Costner fan. I don't know why so many people dislike him.

Because he's a mediocre actor.

He has his above average moments. I thought he was perfect in Wyatt Earp.

Yea, I've never heard of this either. It has a surprisingly high 7.8 rating on imdb.

For the attention and roles he gets, one should be able to characterize his career with a better description than, "he has his above average moments."

Tom Petty had some above average moments in The Postman.

Does Costner really get any attention anymore? Are you forgetting the curse of The Bodyguard?

I'm sorry to inform you but you're probably going to lose your A&E modship for such lunacy, joke or not.
