just saw it, it was very good
Quote:
A small time thief from Belfast, Gerry Conlon, is falsely implicated in the IRA bombing of a pub that kills several people while he is in London. Bullied by the British police, he and four of his friends are coerced into confessing their guilt. Gerry's father and other relatives in London are also implicated in the crime. He spends 15 years in prison with his father trying to prove his innocence with the help of a British attorney, Gareth Peirce. Based on a true story.
the soundtrack was dope too

Excellent, excellent movie. Before I even read your post, Psycho, I knew I was gonna say that the soundtrack was great. This was Day-Lewis in his prime, and he was just fantastic.

Has he left his prime? Methinks no.

What I meant was more about quantity of product, not quality. He was churning out 1-2 movies every year back then, if memory serves. He's a little more reclusive nowadays. He's still great as ever, and should have won the Oscar for his work in Gangs of New York.

That's what I thought. I had a film class in college in which we had to memorize a bunch of Oscar winners for certain years, and My Left Foot was one of them. That little piece of knowledge would take me far on Jeopardy, but I'm not so sure about real life.

I know I kinda do anyways, but did it really make you hate the british establishment? (not the people mind!)
that's just a famous example of the stuff they got up to here..there's literally thousands of other stories...such a great movie though. It was only ever released in only 19 cinemas in the UK. Figures.
