This topic is often discussed over in the UK and usually down to football (soccer). The question that i'm going to ask is " would you rather your club team, i.e, Liverpool win the league or your country win the world cup, i.e england?"

England to win the world cup for me, this usually isnt the most popular answer but i'll be sticking by it until i die.

You can use the question with your favourite sport if you wish, it doesnt have to be football.

I won't be voting for England to win the world cup!

But seriously, I think I'd pick my country, Scotland, to win something

Australia is about 15 world cups away from having the technical skills to win a world cup. I hope. That'd mean I'd be 80 something when it happens!

Country, no contest. Now to be fair, since my club is Chelsea, it's not really that exciting when they do win. It'd be different if we had a coach who's not a complete fuckknuckle, with a more positive attitude and a much smaller budget.

I've been thinking about this all day, as much as I want England to win the World Cup I think I'd actually prefer City to win the League.

It'd be interesting to see what other supporters of the "top four" will answer to this.

If I had a choice between Sporting Cristal (my futbol team from Peru) winning the championship or Peru winning the world cup I have to go Peru winning the World Cup. I would be there and party my ass off. I have seen Sporting Cristal win a championship in person and it was nothing compared to seeing Peru play on TV in World Cup qualifying. I couldn't even imagine what would happen if they made it to the World Cup let alone win the thing.

I don't think this is very applicable in New Zealand. Although in saying that, i'd much rather see the Warriors win the NRL than NZ win the League World Cup.

Club. But my club has little or no effect on my country, so I still care for the former too.
