Pretty much what the title says - when I have UTorrent open to download files, my online browser doesn't work. When I close UTorrent, the browser works fine (when not working, I get a "connection timed out" display). I've been using UTorrent for months and this problem just happened out of the blue. Has anyone ever experienced this/know why in the hell this is happening?
Thanks in advance for any info.

set your upload speed lower. when it's maxed out you either get a very very slow connection or none at all. my max upload speed is 50 kb/s and when i'm browsing i always set it at 20-30 kb/s.

For the record, I'm not uploading anything right now, so that's not it. I have one file waiting to download, but because when I bring up UTorrent I lose my network connection, it's not downloading. I even uninstalled the program and then reinstalled it, but to no avail. I just don't understand why starting the program would knock me off from the web. Very fucking aggravating.

Have you encrypted your torrents?
What does that mean and how do I do it?
Open up utorrent, hit ctrl + G. a pop up window appears. In the bottom left there should be an option to "enable encryption", tick the box, click "use selected settings". It stops your ISP from seeing what you're torrenting.

Does Azuereus have an encryption feature?

I have a 10gb download limit, which I've exceeded every month since I've had broadband. The first couple of months my connection got strangled because of it. Since I discovered encryption, by accident, it's been plain sailing all the way.

you mean by using encryption you can download more than your bandwidth allowance?
