I've smoked with my dad a bunch of times. He'll smoke with me and my friends at my parties too. I never wanted to ask him to get me weed though, until now. I just said fuck it, it aint no different than when he used to get beer for me and my friends. I realized I needed it for today (DOWN III!) Now when I go home I'm going to be a very happy camper.

Anyone else got pot or anything off the elders, or do you think it's too awkward? Or would they kill you if they even knew you did drugs?

one time my brothers friend had my brother stash his pipe and bong inour shed for a week... my dad found it when we were working. he lined me and my brothers up and said "who's is this" my brother told him that he was holding for a friend. my dad looks us in the eye and says "don't ever bring this shit into my house" then he put the back on the ground smashed its contents with a hammer, and threw it into a fire we had in the fire pit. needless to say if i smoked pot, which i don't, he wouldn't be involved

Well I didn't really have any choice. That was ruined a long time ago for me. I used to wake up for work, 530 in the morning, and my dad would still be up drinking, cooking cheese curls in the oven, trying to have a conversation with me when I can barely even open my eyes. sooo....yeah.

I schmoke with my dad quite a bit. It's actually made us a lot closer. My mom is hardcore anti-drug though, so it's a strange situation.

well, unlike the majority of you youngin's, my parents were born during the Depression. Add to that the fact that I'm the last of 6 children, and there's something like a 40 year difference between myself and my parents.

I know for a fact my father used to smoke pot when he was in his 20s etc, although my mom never would have at any point in her lifetime. They were fairly strict as parents, although always loving and helpful to their children. So there was a very clear dividing line between who was the parent/authoritarian and who was the child/subject.

I never had any desire to cross that line, nor have my parents cross that line and become my pals.

Getting stoned with dad or something like that would have made it much less likely that I'd respect the authoritarian parental figure my father would have been to me.
I know kids who used to get stoned with one or both of their parents and they kind of treated eachother like buddies, which, ok, fine I guess, except who do you turn to when you (as a child in a relationship) need some kind of parental guidance? your stoned pal, dad?
I dunno, doesn't seem right to me. And it was kind of rare that those kids were successfully raised by those types of parents either- times change, I understand, but some things are still fairly weirdo to me.

i dont see how a parent cant be authoritarian and teach his or her child how to use drugs respobsibly. do you have a problem with drinking w/ your parents?
