it's not a true 80's movie though cause it doesn't have a montage

Breakfast Club is definitely up there.

Does anybody think that the original Terminator was pretty 80s? Tech Noir anybody?

I have to go with Mr. Mom. Most the people on this board have never seen it, but I think that this single movie encompasses most of what 80's film was about. Put Splash, the Money Pit, and Top Gun up there to.

close, but I think St. Elmo's Fire overrules Breakfast Club because not only does it include more members of the Brat Pack, but Rob Lowe pierced his ear for the role, AND he pretends to play saxaphone.

I think those two facts and the inherently bad dialog blow Breakfast Club away in 80s-ness.
