So we always watch our movies on my brother's ps3 but haven't cared enough to fix the problem that we've had for about a month or so:

the ps3 used to work through the surround sound, now it doesn't....i can hear it but it's just a really fading sound and is very hard to hear..now that i have picture in a frame I want to get this working again...basically the sound still works but only through my tv...the weird part is i have the audio cables plugged into the surround sound system still...so how would they work from the tv if I have them plugged into the surround sound? very strange

any ideas/tips?

I don't know a lot about this, but I think if you go into the audio settings in the PS3 menu, you can choose which device you want the sound to come out of
