I opened my eyes at 3:47 this morning.
I drifted off to sleep at 11 last night after eating a pain killer around 9:30, some kind of opiate perscription drug a friend gave me.
a sense of failure washed over me at 4 in the afternoon.
a good person told me they were leaving leaving the office for a better job yesterday before lunch.
I woke up yesterday feeling happy about what I'd be doing during the day. for once.
random events
nothing to do with me yet impact on me so sharply I begin to wonder why sleep only draws me in when I want it least, and runs away laughing when I need it most.

that's pretty wild... i've been up for an hour and 15 minutes since i woke up at 3:47am. i woke up from a dream where i was crying uncontrollable tears of joy for no reason. i woke up with a tremendous sense of clarity. 3:47am what a coincidence

it's a bad time, not really night anymore and not really day yet either.
What's the line about 4am being when your soul is at its ebb tide? - something like that.
and dreams that I've cried uncontrollably in have never been the good kind of crying dreams.

about four am. that's universal "wake up screaming" time; "be exhausted without managing to sleep" time; "cry yourself to sleep" time; "hear guntshots or car crash sounds" time; "hear crazy people shouting in the streets" time; "jerk yourself off to sleep" time; "i'm still awake and no way i'll wake in time for work" time; "wake up thinking about that report due tomorrow you have not finished yet" time.

story of my life, i don't drink much anymore cause when id get really drunk i'll sleep pee somewhere between my bed and my bathroom
