I caught this for the first time the other night on IFC. They showed it uncut, which was awesome. I'm a huge fan of Dawn, but this was really good. There wasn't quite as much of the comedy element in this one, but the gore was better, as was the acting for the most part. I liked the dynamic between the military and the scientists. There really wasn't any conflict in Dawn between the main characters. Does anyone else like this better than Dawn?

I wouldn't say I like it better than Dawn, but it's a fantastic movie, that's for sure. Together with JC's The Thing, it'd make a great "Why the hell didn't people like this when it came out?" double feature.

I actually went as Capt. Rhodes for Halloween one year as sort of an inside joke among friends. This is probably Savini's finest gore moments as far as I'm concerned, and certainly the effects peak of the series. It's a dark, mean spirited movie with few characters that you want to relate to, but it's just so damn good. I definitely don't understand why people didn't like it when it came out.

Joseph Pilato fucked up this movie for me. I HATED him. Thought he was a shitty actor & overacted his ASS OFF.

I liked land better than this one.

Land? Seriously? I think Pilato is awesome in this. For no name actors, Romero always got some great performances.

Yeah. I liked the main guy & hopper is the man. the only thing i didn't like was Leguizamo (sp?) There was some great gore in the unrated version.

I liked Land, don't get me wrong, but I think it has nothing on the original three.

I actually did a thread for all the Romero zombie movies a while back, it's floating around somewhere. This thread makes me happy though.
