so i just bought a 37-inch jvc and want to hook up the hdtv.
right now all my hd channels are blank. that i likely will have to take up with the cable company. but maybe not, let's see ...
i tried hooking this up via s video a/v. no luck. s video out to s video in, audios out to audios in, and the tv tells me no signal. the only time i AM getting a signal now -- and i can watch all of my channels minus the hd ones -- is when i hook up the coaxial out to in from the box. but who wants to use that?
i should be able to use the s video alone, right? not working.
now, everyone's saying go buy the hdmi cable. but i've just looked and my cable box doesn't support hdmi.

i think that is your best bet ceebs. i only know cause my roomie just bought of those darn things. cable thingy came in the mail and i had to go to time warner to get the new box.

well, i've heard great things about newegg. i just ordered 2 hdmi cables for $26 after shipping.

holy ... i went to monoprice after making that order and saw they had hdmi cables on sale for $2.92 a pop! i canceled my order and ordered two from monoprice for $13 total -- half of the newegg price. wow.
