The Gutter Twins, aka the dynamic duo of Greg Dulli and Mark Lanegan, have announced the title of their debut album: Saturnalia.

According to their publicist, "Saturnalia was a feast/festival back in Ancient Roman times where the slaves became the masters. A fitting title for this album."

As previously reported, the album is due out next year on Sub Pop. In early 2008, the Gutter Twins will play a few shows in the U.S. and abroad to preview the album.

Both men have been keeping busy popping up on other peoples' albums recently, with Lanegan pitching in on the Soulsavers' new album, and Dulli popping up on the debut album from Intramural, the new project from Desaparecidos guitarist / Statistics main man Denver Dalley.

Also, for some reason Dashboard Confessional cover "Crazy" by the Afghan Whigs on their new covers album, which is just weird.

i don't think so. there is a lot of Twilight Singers stuff though in which Lanegan has been involved in as well.

i've been having wet dreams about this album since they first announced they started work on it in 2003. lanegan and dulli are easily my two favorite people in music right now and after all this time anything less than the greatest album of all time will be a disappointment, but i do not expect to be disappointed.

i saw dulli twice this week doing very intimate acoustic shows (which were absolutely incredible, by the way), and both nights he closed with front street, which can be watched from another show here. sadly, lanegan wasnt in seattle.

the audio quality isnt amazing. but thats the song. and its awesome.

this is going to be one of the greatest cds of the last 10 years. i dont know how it could be any less than that.

there was a brief mention of that what, like 2 years ago with no mention of a source? and not a word about it since. i wouldn't get your hopes up.

I always have my hopes up when it comes to Ben Shepherd, Mark Lanegan and gunfighting music.
