Apparently, they are going to start production on this soon so that they have something to throw in 3 spots weekly after the holiday season because of the writer's strike. Heard something about it possibly being a celebrity edition.
Either way, I'm personally not going to give them my viewership. Cheap substitution for other great shows, if you ask me.

There are two or three "great" shows on TV. Let's see your list, Jom.

Doesn't a show like this still need writers? Someone "scripts" the season's theme into all the competitions, someone writes the trivia questions and someone writes the foreword before all competitions. It doesn't seem like much, but I'm guessing this show does employ some writers.

you would think there would be some sort...for the competitions, but i don't think there is actual script writing...don't know what they consider it.
i guess you would need to define exactly what a "writer" is...does it go above and beyond "script writing?"

So are they definitely going ahead with this? A celebrity version would be interesting. Those UK ones are usually pretty interesting but they also allow more sexually explicit stuff, etc on primetime tv. I'm not really sure how well it would work here, since ours is more strategy based.

I was creating my season recording set up on my Comcast DVR and the description of the show gives some pretty big information that I wasn't aware of. I'm sure this will be revealed in the first few seconds of the show, but I'll post this as a spoiler anyway.
The 16 people entering the house are actually 8 couples who claim to be soul mates. They will do everything together. When one wins the HOH, they will both be HOH, and when they nominate someone for eviction, they will actually be nominating the couple. Nothing has been said that I know of, but this could make for a much shorter season that way which is probably intentional especially now since the writters strike could be over in a week or less.

I just assume that means they aren't married. That would also explaing the two gay guys. The only other time I can remember more than one homosexual was last year, but they were Ex's.
