These two are the best black comedians on the planet. Chappelle's standup is fucking hilarious, but a majority of his material is about fantasies and stuff. Chris Rock focuses on real life shit and the funny truth behind them. Both are pretty much even to me, but I'd rather hear outside opinion.

I'm actually not that big a fan of Chris Rock. When I watch his standup, I know it's funny, but it doesn't make me laugh out loud. I don't know if that makes sense.

Chris Rock is a horrible comedian. I hate his voice too, I cringe when his show about his childhood is on.

i don't care for either all that much. Chappele is hit or miss, and mowbs sums up my feelings about Rock perfectly.

Rock has a much better stand up act. He's one of the best ever. His movies suck though and i really wasn't fond of "Everybody Hates Chris". Chappelle is much better at writing skits and although Half Baked wasn't great it was still funny.

Chris Rock...2 for 3 on stand-up - Bring the Pain and Never Scared are really great, but Bigger & Blacker sucked. His movies haven't been all that good either. His SNL stuff is classic though.

A lot of Chappelle's Show is funny, but some of it is absolutely horrible. I still don't understand how of everything on that show, the Rick James stuff is the most popular. Not funny at all. The Wayne Brady episode was way better, as was a lot of stuff. I don't really like much of his stand up either.

Out of these two, Chris Rock wins easily for me, but Eddie Murphy in his prime blows them both away.

As funny as he is, Chris Rock's standup grates on me after awhile. Gotta go with Chapelle. They both are brilliant guys, though.
