I've been doing a lot of old school gaming lately with the nes and snes emulators on my dreamcast and ps1 games. PS2 isn't too old now, but I feel like I missed out on a bunch of shit because I wasn't follow video games too much for probably the past 5 years now.
Soon I'm going to be getting my hands on Final Fantasy X, XII and the God of War games. The only one of them I've actually played is FFX. Between my bros and I we have Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, the GTA games, Resident Evil 4, Timesplitters 3 (so underrated), Bully, and I think that may be it.
I wanted to ask about some stuff that I've heard about but never played. How are the Devil May Cry games? How about some action/survival horror stuff like Manhunt, The Suffering and Fatal Frame? I heard the Twisted Metal game was the best since 2 on ps1, is that true?
Let me know if you have any recommendations for stuff I may be able to pick up cheap. I'm not interesting in sports, racing or fighting. Thanks.

Devil May Cry 1 and 3 are awesome (2 kinda sucks). The suffering games are cool too, lots of creep atmosphere and gore. Worth picking up, you can get them really cheap too. The onimusha games are fun too if you like the Resident Evil series. Shadow of the Colossus is a must own. Manhunt is good too... brutal as hell

If anyone wants to play a couple of ps2 games that were kind of overlooked sales-wise, I highly recommend these:
All pretty unique gaming experiences in their own way.
I played through the God of War and Devil May Cry. DMC3 and the GOW games all look pretty damn great on the ps2. I'm trying to get my hands on Ico and Beyond Good & Evil. Let me know what those games are like.

Shadow of the Colossus (earlier posts) is basically a prequel to Ico. They're different gameplay-wise but have really similar aesthetics and are both really unique games. In Ico you lead around another character and have to clear obstacles and stuff like that. In SotC you basically fight 16 huge bosses in a row. I think they're both great, but like someone else said, definitely not for everyone.

The last 1/4 of the game or so was a pretty big "wtf?" for me. I was engaged by the story and concept right away, but I think it ended up suffering from some pacing and character development issues. I felt like the conclusion was rushed. Still a good game that I imagine has some solid replay value. There were some gripping moments and the presentation was great.
The studio has an upcoming PS3 title that's supposed to be similar in style. Hopefully they can fix the problems Indigo had and take advantage of next-gen graphics. I'm definitely looking forward to ti:
Hey, would anyone be able to tell me approximately how long the Prince of Persia games are? I completely skipped on this series for some reason, and everything I heard about it has been very positive. The upcoming game looks beautiful.
From what I've read, the next-gen PoP has no real connection to the storyline set in the Sands of Time trilogy, but I'm curious about working through the games and seeing the changes Ubisoft made along the way.
