I've only had this issue within the past week or so. Hopefully, it's a board issue, not just my computer.
Anyways, sometimes when an image is supposed to appear, it doesn't appear and the word "image" takes its place. When I refesh the page, problem solved.
It's no biggie, but I'd like to know if it's a board problem or my problem.

It's neither the board nor your problem really. It happens with any webpage you go to. Some example of why could be that you're downloading or that you have other pages loading, or the server is running a bit slower because there are heaps of people on or something. Reloading normally fixes it.
Also depends on how big the picture is too, if it's a 100kb+ one then it can take a bit to load and your browser may give up, but when refreshed it tries again.
Dunno how factual that is, it's just from personal experience. lol
This is the only board I see it on, too. It used to bug me, but it's actually kind of useful to know that someone tried to post an image and either the link is dead/broken or my browser didn't load the pic. That's better than the old board's behavior, imo, where a pic that didn't finish loading soon enough simply disappeared.

Does this happen on images that are part of the board software itself, like the header images or icons, or does it just happen to images that are posted in someones thread?

Interesting. Off the top of my head, I can't see how the forum would cause any issue like that. If it happens again, link me to a post where it happens for you. I'd like to see if I can recreate it in any way.
