I'm going to have to watch Dead Man's Shoes now I guess. I've had it laying around for a while. It's really that good?
I'll get back to you on my top 5, that's really tough.

Pulp Fiction Dawn of the Dead A Clockwork Orange Almost Famous Grindhouse
I was really torn on number 5, but 5 just isn't enough either.
Nice to see Sin City on your list frank, awesome movie.
And props to Sian for Devil's Rejects, that could easily be in slot #5 for me.

The top 5 thing is from High Fidelity (another fantastic movie) so it's 5 individual films, no trilogy's, no series - 5. No more, No less!
See, I dabbled in Dawn being in my top 5 instead of Rejects but then i'd get into the whole 'Of The Dead' trilogy territory and, before you know it 3 places would have been filled! I personally think that although Dawn is quite possible the greatest zombie movie ever made, I believe that Rejects is a far better film cinematically. There's not many films achieve beauty, sympathy with lets face it, horrendous characters, a touch of comedy and absolute brutality. The last 11 minutes of the movie with Lynyrd Skynyrds Free Bird is gorgeous, I cried ffs!! Perfact IMO
and yes, Dead Man's Shoes is amazing, simply amazing. You'll love it I think

That's 2 movies buddy! Sold seperately at your local wallmart.
Actually, I might let him have that one, originally released as one movie but had to be changed.
If I had to list them seperately then neither one would make the cut and I'd probably put Rejects in that spot, love that one too. The thing that put it over the top for me is that it's my favorite theatrical experience ever, and I think that counts for something. My cinematic hard on could have reached the moon that day.

I was talking about Grindhouse actually, but Rejects was a damn fine theatrical experience as well. Actually, the 2nd time I went to see Rejects in theaters was probably better for some reason. It sort of verified it's greatness in my mind. Actuallly, that should probably be in the top 5 instead of Almost Famous. I'd love to be more varied but I know I've watched that movie a million times by now.

seeing grindhouse on the big screen was probably my favorite experience too, or at least damn close. it's hard to beat those two movies plus the previews (which is why it was such a big gay fag of a move for them to release seperate dvds)
It's also hard to beat seeing Batman in the theatre with my Dad and a bunch of my friends. Good times.
Recently I also had a blast watching Simpsons and Hot Fuzz. It's a toss up between those two for hardest I ever laughed in a theatre. (Not counting the shitty Halloween remake, with the absolutely hilarious black woman behind me making jokes the whole time. The only good thing about that movie)
