FOX NEWS HOST SLAMS CBC DOCUMENTARY
01/29/05 -- Toronto---Fox News commentator Bill O'Reilly has lashed out at a CBC documentary featuring guests who were highly critical of his show.
"Vicious attack on Fox News by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, totally out of any kind of bounds," said O'Reilly in his response Friday night to the Fifth Estate broadcast on Jan. 26.
"How low will they go? We'll show you the tape and you won't believe it!" was another response found on the Fox News website.
The Fifth Estate's website says the documentary examines the "war of words that's pitting conservative against liberal."
"It's loud, it's raucous, but does it have anything to do with the truth?" the site asks about the new kind of hard-hitting political debate on U.S. television.
Journalists, media watchers and other talk show hosts in the documentary took aim at the O'Reilly Factor and show's relationship with the truth.
In turn, the host had two guests on his show who agreed with him about the CBC.
"The Canadian government gives them a billion dollars to put this sort of stuff on the air, and the Canadian government is really at fault here, isn't it?" O'Reilly said to one guest.
"You scare the hell out of them, Bill," the guest answered.
CBC refused an invitation to appear on O'Reilly's show Friday night, and O'Reilly refused to be interviewed for the Fifth Estate broadcast.
In the past, O'Reilly has called the CBC radically to the left, the Globe and Mail a "far-left newspaper," and Canadian health care "socialist."
He and his conservative colleagues say they're doing journalism that is fair and balanced.
The Fox News Channel is the highest-rated news network in the United States. In mid-December, Rogers Communications announced it had added Fox to its all-digital channel lineup, becoming the first in Canada to do so.

Regardless of how close to the truth the documentary actually is, its probably not far off. O'Reilly is an ass and needs a good scare, because he is not the populist he claims to be, although I think his menance is a bit overstated. There are worse commentators out there, like Sean Hannity. O'Reilly really isn't so bad people.

Coulter just said Canada sent troops to Vietnam, and just like Iraq Canada didn't. When corrected she said "No..no..no I think your wrong." When he held strict to the truth that Canada never sent troops, she pauses and then continues with "Noo..noo. I'll get back to you on that." Then never does.
It's got a lot of stuff from Outfoxed but more compact. Fox wouldn't Corporate because the Network would portray them as Conservative, which they admit they are, mainstream. Some really good points brought up regarding Liberal vs. Conservative in the media. Specifially with Fox of course.

If any US Conservatives actually sat through a day of programming for the CBC, they would probably petition to invade Canada.
I'm not going to get into my views but I will agree the CBC is heavily influenced by the left. That being said, most of our television programming comes from the US so it kinda balances out.

Yes the CBC is slanted to the left, but that only follows the general attitude of canadians. I say general and don't mean all Canadians. Where I live in Atlantic Canada unfortunately all 4 provinces are under a conservative government.
I like how he blames it on the canadian government and thus the canadian people as the CBC is a publicly funded broadcaster.
I think its good that there is a voice around that looks at topics that people dont want to touch or is not commercially viable. (not reffering directly to the o'reilly factor)

If Fox was just conservative, I wouldn't have a problem with it. But with all the lies, deceit, manipulation, and managing of news they still have an audience. Do facts really matter? When real events happen Fox can't respond they don't have the capability, they are infotainment. But entertainment can be done honestly. If it is the truth they say then why is it not grounded in fact. Same with this last election and PIPA study, or the study's on Fox News that if you watch them you actually become dumber. This is profound. But eh, who cares?

Just as CNN, MSNBC, ABC, and CBS all do the same. They LIE!

Common... if you're going to insult the country, don't insult one of the best things we've got going. Everyone in Canada loves the health care system. Who cares if it's socialist? It works. We get flu shots.

Instead of crying from his desk where he thinks he can have it his way all day long. Why didn't the loud mouth come on up for a visit when asked. Why should anybody show up on his show from the CBC when the suck wouldn't give the time of day up here. Most people with brains in their heads know the reason. The fool would have looked even more stupid when not behind his desk screaming at people for not being like him.

Americans go to Canada for drugs, Canadians come to America for certain surgeries. It evens out.
I swear I was falling over laughing after watching that Cunter classic.
