Doug Pinnick, bassist/singer for King's X. (they opened the show for PJ that night). They were like the 80's metal version of the Beatles...great musicians, incredible harmonies (all 3 band members were vocalists). I saw them live in Boston in the early 90's. They blew me away...incredibly tight and all of the vocals were dead on.

Thanx, babe! Yeah, I absolutely adore his voice. It was awesome. I actually wish he sang more on it!

The PJ gods are about to strike me down. . . *runs away quickly*

maybe the beatles reference is a little strong? =) while the beatles used harmonies effectively, they're more known for their melodies, songs and general appeal at that time in history. King's X is really an extension of a lot of 70s Prog Rock with yes ... really really good harmonies. King's X were big with musicians because all 3 of those guys were really widely known in guitar/bass/drum magazines. only problem is that their records really lacked that "ummph" (that's a technical term) that would push them over the edge. good band, not great band. but it's all opinion really =)

my closest pj moment was summer of '92 and every seattle band under the sun was being promoted. this band "my sister's machine" was opening for King's X at the tradewinds in sea bright , NJ, and my friend won tickets from SHU.edu metal station WSOU. we went to see MSM, but bailed on King's X because we had other plans that night (well, just get drunk at the beach really) but regret not seeing them now, for sure.

right on...guess I forgot to put my little "sarcastic" smiley face next to my Beatles reference...sorry...I figured that putting 80's metal and beatles in the same sentence would imply the sarcasm for me...I'll learn eventually.
