I'd vote for Tebow, his numbers are great but even more he's carried the team on his back. Over 45 TD's total with no useful running baack on the team with their worst defense in years. He's by far the best player in the country.

If not Tebow than Chase Daniel(if he wins next week against OU). It would be hard to deny Daniel if he gets this team to a championship game. He's incredible and the run he's had with this Mizzou team is a great feat. It sure helps to have guys like Macklin and Temple though. Mizzou actually has more offensive talent than Florida(which is why i'd vote Tebow).

Pat White is also a consideration. He is the key to that offense and with their shitty defense nobody but White could pull this off. WVU will be in the BCS championship game, congrats to the Moutaineers fans here.

McFadden has a great game on Friday, he's probably gonna be a great NFL player, i just don't think he deserves the Heisman. He's been inconsistant all year and his team has 4 losses. Just cause he throws a couple of TD's doesn't mean he should win the Heisman but i have a feeling that this is what's gonna happen. For some reason I think that he'll get more votes cause he's black. Am i way off here?

I pretty much agree with you. I'd say that if Mizzou wins next week Daniel has a 50-50 shot of winning the hardware.

Otherwise it's hard to argue against Tebow.

I agree about Tebow. And he has 51 total TD's this year. That's amazing. I'm not sure about Mizzou having more offensive talent though. Maclin and Temple are both very good, but Percy Harvin and Andre Caldwell aren't exactly scrubs. But I do understand your point. As for Chase Daniel getting the Heisman if Mizzou makes the championship game, I can't argue that the voters won't go his way but I still don't understand this tradition of voting for a guy based on his team's standing. The award is supposed to go the best overall player in the country, regardless of team, division, competition, etc. Either give the award to the best player or change the name to "MVP of the Best Team".

One could argue that one sign of a great player is leading your team to victories. I don't necessarily agree with that thought, but it's something to consider. Daniel was like a robot last night.

I can get onboard with that argument if the player in question is far and away the single reason a team wins but that usually isn't the case with any college team. And I don't think it fits this year. Now obviously both Tebow and Daniel have great talent surrounding them but I think if you were to take it away Tebow does more with nothing than Chase Daniel would.

Yeah, that's about right. The fact of the matter is though that there will still be a lot of people who vote for the best player on the best team. It's just like how people vote for the teams they are familiar with or teams that are traditionally dominant. :?

what if daniel has a ridiculously good game but his defense sucks and mizzou loses to oklahoma? then he shouldn't get the heisman because his defense sucked? makes sense.

I vote for Tebow or Chase Daniel, but I lean toward Tebow because even though his team lost three games (mostly when HE was injured) He is thier best QB, thier best HB combined. He is the best college football player in the nation period and it's really not even close (and I hate to hype the guy really he still throws a shitty ball at times)

Mcfadden fumbled 3 TIMES to open that game. Great player. Not the heisman.

I would invite, Tebow; Daniel; Mcfadden; Reesing and Glen Dorsey (before the cheap shot on his knee he was unbelievably dominant)

Dennis Dixon is right there too really. I think he's better than Reesing but doing that at Kansas should be recognised... I mean....it's freaking Kansas.

Oh, and don't sell Florida short, they have a RIDICULOUS amount of offensive talent.... are you kidding? Percy Harvin could easily win the heisman in another year if Tebow wasn't on his team. They simply don't have a tailback worth a crap. Florida's defense is simply very young, they have underdeveloped talent everywhere.

If you define Heisman as the player most valuable to his team you have to give it to Dixon, yikes the Oregon offense has just gone missing. Tebow has the best stats by far, but "3 losses" and "sophomore" will likely kill him. As for invitations...

Tebow, Daniel, Dixon, Brennan, White

i completely subsribe to that line of thinking. dixon is the most valuable as evidenced by that UCLA game and 2nd half of the arizona game.

however,

what darren mcfadden has done with that arkansas team is pretty amazing. in a great conference splitting time, mind you, with felix jones, and he still puts up ridiculous numbers. he's unbelievable. if you're telling me that he's the number one pick in the draft but not the best player in college football you're out of your mind. the two are not mutually exclusive in my book.

1 - McFadden
2 - Tebow
3 - Dixon
4 - Daniel
5 - White
6 - Brennan

Do you think they'll really invite 5? Last year they only invited 3.

Tebow gets my vote even though I think he's kind of a d-bag. 20/20 is pretty remarkable. I would amost guarantee that McFadden wins though.
