I finally get to see them on tv tonight. Don't know if that is a good thing or bad thing. If they beat the patriots in a few weeks and they are still undefeated, I would take 10 straight winless seasons by the dolphins.

Gonna be funny to see the division list. Two zeros in two important places; the top for the first time in 35 years and the bottom for the first time in 29.

if roles were reversed, i think i'd be doing a lot more talking about the draft and free agents than about the actual games at this point. if the pats had the same roster as miami and were facing the same offseason here's what i'd want:
with the #1 pick i'd hope for them to pick either Dorsey or one of the Long's. I myself think that Jake Long is a sure thing, and will only help the team's young QB. That said there are numerous free agent OL that i wouldn't be too upset about my team going after, inplace of taking Long. Dorsey could be a great pick as well, but actually in this instance, i'd rather my team went hard after albert haynesworth (a proven DL) than developing Dorsey, who could pan out like Robertson with the Jets. The same could be said for Chris Long, except in his case, i'd rather my team went after Terrell Suggs. I think some guys that could fall to the pats (in this hypothetical situation) would be 1st rounders any other year, b/c remember the #1 in the second round in any other draft would be #32 (thanks miami you cheaters). Guys I'd wish for my team to get with their 2nd "first round" pick:
Aqib Talib, CB, Kansas Sam Baker, OT, USC (if Dorsey or Chris Long were taken earlier) Dan Connor, LB, Penn St Jeffrey Otah, OT, Pitt (if Dorsey or Chris Long were taken earlier) Keith Rivers, LB, USC Mike Jenkins, CB, S. Florida John Carlson, TE, Notre Dame (he's the highest ranked TE currently)
I'd expect my team to stay away from QB, RB and WR, on day one.
If my team wasn't in on the bidding for Terrell Suggs, I wouldn't expect them to go after Lance Briggs. But maybe Karlos Dansby could find a home with my team. its pretty well known that asante samuel will be available, but last time i checked marcus trufant will be unrestricted too, so maybe my team looks his way if they can't win the bidding for asante.

trade down and get tons of picks like green bay did
GB never had the #1 pick... did they? you take the guy that's most likely to help the fastest (in my eyes Jake Long). think joe thomas, not robert gallery. i seem to remember GB using their 1st rounder on Hawk recently. i'd want my team to sign haynesworth and have cam cameron do his job and make one of beck or lemon an NFL QB for '08-'09. either strategy admits defeat for next season anyway (trading the pick or keeping it), but you can't allow your QB to go the joey harrington/david carr route and play scared the rest of his career.

Yeah, GB never traded their 1st, but they did send Javon Walker to the Broncos for the 37th overall, then they immediately traded that pick to the Falcons so they could get Jimmy Williams. I think they traded the subsequent pick again before selecting Daryn Colledge.
Oh yeah, and they also traded down their own 2nd with the Pats so they could get Chad Jackson. Remember that?

i remembered the pats getting jackson, but i didn't remember with whom they traded.
so i think we can take away from all this that the phins will most likely be using that #1 overall pick. and if they take Jake Long they'll be safe from criticism.
