new album from these gents......opened for pearl jam in newfoundland on the canadian tour after a tape was passed to them in halifax.....they're from halifax, and really great guys.....i've seen them live a few times and seeing them again in a couple weeks....they're a force onstage and tour constantly.....this record's lighter than their past albums, most of it being written on the road and the first single is probly one of the catchiest ditties i've heard in a long time..... if you can find the album, i highly recommend it......

video for the single "weighty ghost"....not really indicative of the feel of the band....typically have a much more aggressive balls out vibe.....bass player and drummer both play with the band Holy Fuck, if anyone knows of them.....

Thanks. You're the second enthusiast about this band within a week, so I'll check them out :).

groetjes,
Mirella :)

I haven't been able to get Weighty Ghost out of my head for weeks. One of the years best singles.

Seeing them next week at the Delta Ballroom. Can't wait.

If you're just starting out with them, I recommend Danse Macabre, Dead Letter & The Infinite Yes, Avalanche, Caliber, Wind, Oblivion, Insomnia.

I've been wittering on about Wintersleep to all my friends for weeks :D

While I love 'welcome to the night sky' I have to say the 2nd Album is my favourite...I can't get Lipstick out of my head.

That, and Caliber from the 1st Album..

:) :) :)

Just listened to this band today and they're great ! It's got good guitars and the songwriting seems interesting as far as my french ears catch it. The Astronaut is really good and I think that the record will grow on me in the next few days.

Saw them last night at the ballroom and it was extraordinary. Incredible setlist, the only songs that would have made it ideal were Insminia and Sore. Dead Letter & The Infinite Yes slayed me.

They also played for a while, too. They must have brushed up against 2 hours. After the encore, they came back out and just jammed for 6 or 7 minutes. Incredible.

Oh, by the way, the jam I mentioned was actually Nerves Normal, Breath Normal. I missed the first 3-4 minutes at the coat check, thinking the show was over. Yeah, I'm pissed - that song is incredible.

They just played here and i should have gone to see it but i was seeing Feist the next night. That and $20 was a bit much to see them in a dangerously overcrowded bar.

i just got back home from seeing these guys tonight

amazing, they've been to prince edward island like five times (90 mins from my ghosttown) since i saw then open for pj in 2005, but i never made it out until tonight! solid set, my god nerves normal, breath normal went on for like 15 minutes!! what a closer

they played a new song & did a righteous cover of uncle neils "words"

since this was the first show of a short mini-run & since they're east coasters too i scored BIG on the vinyl, all 3 for $55 (the first LP is white/clear and was VERY limited as per maplemusic.com) anyway, the cutie behind the merch counter told me some of the guys had extra copies kickin around the house and brought em on the road

i think my digi-cam's mic shit the bed, but i did record the god damn thing if there's anything worth uploadin ill link it here sometime this w/end
:peace:
