i think one of the reasons people dislike eddie (and the band, i guess), is that he's the complete polar opposite of someone like beyonce. not only no commercials, but very few public appearances. very hesitant to do anything public. though it seemingly has changed recently, starting with the new album.

I think the implication is that by not doing stuff like this he is in important ways above you or better than you, holding himself to more meaingful standards, and no one likes to feel that way.

i agree. which is completely moronic.

It's impossible to compare someone like PJ to someone like Beyonce(but other names would fit better here) because the economy side of things is much more present even as early as in the studio so to speak with someone in strictly commercial pop music than with PJ even if they would shot 3 to 4 videos per album.

rather than assuming someone who wants to do what they think is right by their own moral standards has a 'superiority' complex, I think it reveals you're own inferiority one
it's not him feeling smug about it, it's you feeling ashame for accepting the commercial crap.

if the PJlution started in 2006 continues, I can perfectly see them do a commercial in the next few years. And I can even already see the die-hards defending it.

Yeah. I'm disappointed, too.

They already are. Someone ripped me a new asshole in another thread for saying that Pearl Jam are closing in on being "sellouts." Sadly, nobody defended me.
