 Post subject: What's up with all these mergers?

My parents never say anything about polictics, but tonight at dinner my mom seemed upset about all these mergers lately. She said "It's probably Bush's fault. Just another way for the CEOs to make more money and the hard working low-income earners to suffer some more."

So, I was just wondering if Bush has passed some laws or done anything we haven't heard about in the news that is benefiting these companies when they merge?

I believe that mergers have been a bit less common recently, because the economy hasn't been as red-hot as it was earlier.

This happened a lot under Clinton too. We just had a lot more money, food, and sex in our lives, so we didn't pay attention.
