how much time do you spend living in these three states of mind?

i try really hard to stay present... but often my mind escapes to the comfort of the past, of knowing what happened already

and the future just brings anxiety alot

Sadness so real that it populates
The city and leaves you homeless again
Steam from a cup and snow on the path
The seasons have changed from the present to past

The past...
There's hope to have
In the past...

Why would he come back through the park
You thought that you saw him, but no you did not
Who can be sure of anything through
The distance that keeps you from knowing truth

I tend to think about the future more than the past or present. Sometimes I wish I could cherish the present a little more than I do, but that's just not how my brain works.

children have to live in the present by default, T.
They haven't yet accumulated the number of memories they'd need to dwell in the past, nor the cognitive ability to process information as past or present or future yet- therefore they exist in the present almost excusively until they have the experiences logged needed to reference a "past" or compare to a subjective "future"
