Haneke's latest, it's actually a remake of a French film he directed a few years ago. This version is starring Naomi Watts and Tim Roth. He's also responsible for Cache, the Piano Teacher, Time of the Wolf, and Code Unknown. All great films.
In this provocative and brutal thriller from director Michael Haneke, a vacationing family gets an unexpected visit from two deeply disturbed young men. Their idyllic holiday turns nightmarish as they are subjected to unimaginable terrors and struggle to stay alive.

its one of the few movies that was really disturbing, but made me relate to the most disturbing parts of it, which i don't know if it was just that well done, or i'm that fucked up

Please, Go On.....
i don't know a lot of people seemed really shocked, but some reason i empathized with the characters... i feel like the character was extreme, but sort of a super-sized version of little parts of ourselves. sort of how i feel crazy people make good artists a lot of the time because they experience things that everyday people experience only in a "super charged sort of way" that's like holding a magnifying glass upon the reality of the situation.
i wrote a psychoanalysis paper on it for my film theories class a few years ago, all in all a great movie

disappointed i understand your point though; we can identify with some of her feelings, ie. being jealous of that girl who she taught piano to. just can't identify with what she did to the girl in response to her jealousy

i can, there's always a little part of you who wishes bad things on people who have what you want, or you find a reason to look down on them so you can feel better. she just took it to a new level
