my first time seeing them was 2000, it was quite hard to get tickets in the early years, weather i was a bit to young to go, or they sold out in like 7 minutes, or they were useing alternative ticket companys, it wasnt to easy, so its sweet you got to see them in 92, i try to make up for what i missed out on with all the old boots ive traded for

those two are great choices... BUT, stone was fuckin' up during baba. he just wasn't doing the synth part as well as i've heard him do before. imho, you shoulda went with the 10/05/00 toronto version instead; now that one was out of this frickin' world.

to let you know...i only posted shows i was at. stone had a problem with his guitar at the toronto show...i like that version of Baba for several reasons...mike had to pull double duty and did a good job of trying to play both parts of the opening...when stone finally does come into the song it kicks my ass everytime...there's a note he holds and then jams into his part the best he could...finally, since i was at the show i know this, fireworks were busting up the sky during Baba and the boys eyes lit up with excitement and it was a perfect ending to the night.

I was at one of the Detroit Lolla's too. I'm convinced I was at the first show because, there was still grass on the hill for everyone to throw during Ministry and what was left was set afire during RHCP.
Unfortunately I was just arriving when PJ started their set, so I'm am unsure as to what they opened with. For the longest time, I always thought it was Oceans, but after searching and seeing how many times they actually played that song live in 92 (20 times I think), I would have to guess they probably opened with either Deep or Why Go (they played each of these songs over 70 times a piece in 92, so we probably heard both of these). I do know for sure Alive was the second song, because I came running around the waterfall at Pine Knob smack face first into the mosh pit for it. I am also positive that Jeremy, Even Flow and Porch were played, I'm pretty sure Porch was the closer. Although I was not familiar with the song at the time, I'm about 80% sure they played STOLT.
Last year I found a set list for this show, but I haven't been able to find it again for some time. If anyone has a clue to where the 7/31/92 and the 8/1/92 setlists are located, I will be forever in ones debt.

wow...i could have written this post myself...almost everything you wrote is true for me as well...from the reason you thought you were at the first show, to the setlist...gave me chills.
I believe they opened with Jerermy...I too was on my way into the venue when they took the stage...I am almost positive the opener was Jeremy. I am almost positive that they closed with Porch...eddie and mike were maniacs on stage...flopping around on their backs, sides, and stomachs during the closing song (again, I think it was Porch). I had never seen anything like it in my life before...not really since either.
One other note...I was told that Eddie walked around in the crowd (supposedly with a mask on) before they went on stage...
Someone please help me and Rock Gossard out with the setlist.
