depends if i've used it for work or not, if yes i always reboot it right after i'm done. if not it could be on for weeks in a row.
i haven't turned my home PC off since around xmas last year. at work i reboot a little more often because i run much heavier apps.
i always thought that rebooting "solves" and "cleans" up allot when it comes to windows...so in doing that every night i figured it was good... also if you havent shut down for so long what power mode do you have it go into (assuming you have a pc not a mac of course)

no power mode on the PC, just the screen which turns off after 15 minutes of no activity. rebooting only cleans up if there is anything to clean up. i make sure there is none.

i think i might shut it down more often now. Comcast (my ISP) got me firm by the balls 2 days ago. they called to ask me kindly to stop downloading as i was in the top 3 users concerning bandwidth usage in South Florida. I'm still not sure to be proud or ashamed of that, but i'm gonna lay low for a month or so....

Heh, good to hear that you aren't being a dick about it. Some people feel that they are entitled to unlimited bandwidth while paying the same rates as everyone else. Your neighbors will appreciate your decrease in downloading.

heh, i was more worried about my immigration status. when they called to say they needed to speak to me urgently about my internet usage i nearly pissed myself. you have no idea how relieved i was that it was just a complaint of bandwidth usage and nothing more.

By 'immigration status' you mean your fervent support for terrorism, right?
