We busted Michigan's ass earlier in the year, and we're going for three national football championships in a row next weekend! We're Division I-AA...and we have to go through playoffs to make the championship game. Those I-A bowl-game pussies don't know what's going on.

Mountaineers Punch Ticket For Chattanooga, Win 55-35
by ASU Sports Information

Dec. 7, 2007 - BOONE, N.C. For the third consecutive season, the Appalachian State Mountaineers will compete for the NCAA Division I national title. The Mountaineers earned the trip to the Rock City with a 55-35 victory over the Richmond Spiders.

Armanti Edwards led the way with seven all-purpose touchdowns (four rushing, three passing) and 495 yards of total offense. Edwards broke his own school record en route to 313 yards rushing on 31 carries. The sophomore also tallied ASU postseason records for rushing touchdowns (four), touchdowns responsible for (seven) and total offense (495).

The Mountaineers set team postseason records for points (55), total offense (617) and rushing yards (435). The 24,140 fans that packed The Rock set a new NCAA FCS record for a non-championship game.

Can we make this the "Official Appalachian State Thread" where, next year, there will be tumbleweed rolling through it (kind of like that thread from a couple of years back where everyone posted their love of St. Joes basketball)?

We play App State in 2011. Hopefully they move up to 1-A by then to help our SOS.

Meh. It was funny at the time, but since Michigan rebounded to have a somewhat decent season it just makes the conference look bad.

As a Buckeye living in the Old North State, I still approve of this thread.

B, I thought about it. But, it wasn't on the first page so I forgot about it.

I hope ChrisH2 taped the game for me.

As a former Wofford player, I say congrats to App State for 3 straight titles. Way to represent the Southern Conference this year!!! The Southern conference never gets its due, even at the I-AA level.
