Being a 49ers fan, i always told myself when he left i'd probably hate him, but i'll be honest, he's earned my respect this season. he seems to have matured a lot and is more of a team-player, maybe he just needed a change of atmosphere or something

The only thing I saw from a distance here in Philly that he did wrong when he was in San Fran was the yelling he did at the coach on the sidelines. Everything else got blown out of proportion. T.O. is pretty much what all athletes should strive to be. This guy is a fitness fanatic and will always strive to improve himself.

Haha....Probably shouldn't have been said but he was asked the question and yes he could have said no comment but I just think that got blown way out of proportion to. That was said in training camp and people were just waiting for T.O. to have a blow up in Philly so they were trying to get him to say things, and have a story.

i'll clarify..i still don't like the guy, but i think he's been better..maybe i shouldn't have said he's "earned my respect"...but i think he's been more respectable than in the past

with what we've seen here in Atlanta from Greg Knapp's offensive style, maybe he was justified. All recievers want the ball, TO was their best weapon and while screaming at the coach on the sideline was childish, I don't really fault him for being pissed off he wasn't getting the ball more.

I mean look at this season 14 TD's with Mcnabb and he missed a few games.

Yes please give me some examples of what he has done so wrong this year.

And yes there is always breaking a players ankle to be the highlight of your teams season because we all know Dallas isn't doing shit next year.

these are some TO quotes from super bowl media day...you tell me if this sounds like it came from a mature, team player :

T.O. on all the attention his ankle has received:
"What did you expect? I was a big key to this offense. It was more than warranted."

T.O. on God's reason for giving him an ankle injury:
"God is using me to put me on a platform to really show the world how great He is."

T.O. on T.O.:
"A lot of people kind of criticized my character and my antics. A lot of people say I'm controversial. And they may be right. But I am who I am. God laid this plan out for me. Obviously it was in His plans for me to be controversial, and I accept that."

T.O. on Freddie Mitchell's trash-talking:
"What did he say wrong? I've been playing this game for nine years and I don't know the names of a lot of guys."

T.O. on former 49ers QB Jeff Garcia:
"When I was in San Francisco, people reported that (the receivers) didn't have the speed to get downfield. We had that ability. We just didn't have the quarterback to get it to us."

T.O. on former 49ers QB Steve Young, who will likely be voted into the Hall of Fame on Saturday:
"I really don't have too much to say about Steve Young. He was a great quarterback, but I think everybody knows Jerry Rice was his guy."

bottom line is the ONLY reason Owens is trying so hard to play in this game is not because he thinks his team needs him (which is true the eagles have no shot w/o a healthy TO)....Owens needs to be the center of attention, he needs the glory, the individual glory, he needs everything to be about HIM.

I don't know I guess it's just me but I'm not offened by aything he said in any of those quotes. The bottom line is he is a confident guy wgo is probably the hardest working player in the NFL and he backs up everything he says.

his sense of self-importance is ridiculous..........but he's far from the only pro athlete to act that way. His comments about God are hysterical. Who says things like that?

Regarding his work ethic, how can you possibely know one way or the other if he's the hardest working player in the league? Did you take a poll of each player's regimen and compare them? It's fine to be a fan of the guy, but statements like that are silly..........
