when i was a kid there was an abundance of cereal commercials with all sorts of lovable cartoon mascots, but nowadays you might occassionally see a honey bunches of oats commercial with some factory owners. what gives?

Yeah, this realization hit me a few years ago. I was sitting there thinking "man what the fuck happened to all those toy commercials and shit? Oh wait I don't watch exclusively Nickelodeon anymore."

It became obvious real fast that these commercials didn't really sell cereal...the shit sells itself. Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs don't need a bear in a commercial to get little shitheads in shopping carts calling "Mommy, mommy," and parents really are indifferent enough to their children to buy them this crap just to shut them up until next time.

It's probably going to be like when Fox and NBC discover that they make just as much money in a season built solely on reality TV, and just quit negotiating with writers. "Oh, apparently plot is unnecessary."

in the old days us kids would wolf down 2 bowls a morning of pure sugar cereal and then go out and play for 6 hours. everything was fine

now these little morons eat this shit and then plop down in front of an xbox for 6 yours straight and become fat little idiots.

:ohyeah!: <--? this cartoon has taken on a life of his own though eh?

Why eat f*cking "Cookie Crisp" when you can eat a real cookie? I mean.....just because it's a cereal cookie, doesn't make it any less loaded with craptastic amounts of sugars.

Fakers! eat real damn cookies for breakfast!!!

pft...posers... :shake:
