Okay, so I was recently given Seinfeld season 4 on DVD as a present. My girlfriend knows how much I love the show, and season 4 has all my favorite episodes-- The Junior Mint ("Mulva?"), The Contest, The Pitch, etc. Looking at all the behind-the-scenes featurettes, it's clear to me that Larry David was the main creative force behind the show, and I was struck by how funny he was.

This makes me want to check out his show, Curb Your Enthusiasm. I never saw a single episode, but now I'm curious. Can anyone here recommend any seasons worth checking out?

You're going to recognize a lot of the George Constanza character toned down in Curb. George was my favorite on Seinfeld so I mean that as a compliment.

this show is simply incredible. though i actually think season one is kind of meh as it's finding its footing season 2 is pure gold.

i don't know i think larry on the show is much more ridiculous than george ever was. george complained and ranted a lot to jerry and the gang but he would never say the things to people's faces that larry does.

I actually think Season 1 is one of the strongest; the pilot is especially good.

i think the most recent one was the strongest, with the exception of the finale which was bizarre

Larry: Nice house.
Susie: Yeah, come on. I'll give you a tour.
Larry: Naw, it's ok.
Susie: No, come on.
Larry: No, it's ok. I-I get it.
Susie: You get it?
Larry: Yeah, it's a house. It's new. I get it. It's nice.
Susie: You get it? Ok, you know what? Get the fuck out of my house, Larry.

Susie Essman is great. Almost all of her scene with Larry are funny and she can out curse a Jersey longshoreman.

My Concern with the sixth season is that it seems a little too much like a generic sitcom. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
