I made a thread like this before, but it had like a humorous tone to it, so I wanted to make a new one for serious discussion about the band. Also, I probably make too many Wu threads, so I guess this will be the spot for news on upcoming shit, thoughts on past shit, tour dates, RZA worship and all of that shit.
As for news...
Quote:
GZA is set to release his new album titled "Protools" January 8th. The album is laced with guest appearances by RZA, Raekwon, Mos Def, Sean Price, Killah Priest, and Bronze Nazareth to name a few. The album's production will be done by the RZA himself as well as DJ Muggs, Nottz, Bink!, and Bronze Nazareth.
I'll believe it when I see it, but then again, I didn't know Ghost was coming out with an album this year until like a week before it came out.
I'll post my thoughts on 8 Diagrams and Big Doe in a little bit. But I wanted to talk about some shit I was thinking about earlier...
U-God is, rhyme for rhyme, one of the most consistent performers on Clan albums, and in my opinion, he has the most interesting verses on Forever. I think this speaks volumes for his talent, considering that Forever was arguably when the group was at their creative prime (as a 9-piece band). I've always thought his voice was absolutely killer, and his style is similar to that of Rae and Ghost's. I never understood why he always got overshadowed, but I guess that has a lot to do with the fact that he's hardly on 36. When I'm listening to a solo album and U-God comes in with a verse, I get all happy and shit.
Actually, I take back what I said about comparing Uey to Ghost stylewise. Ghost's rhymes tend to be a lot more introspective. Also, his personality brings out a pretty unique element to his raps.
Rae is better to compare to U-God. They both tend to use cryptic lyrics, but I think Uey's are more often coherent and less reliant on slang.

I think it is a Vodka Commercial.
Is it the Ciroc commercial with Diddy?
Could be...I'm just looking for the name of the song.
