 Post subject: how do i get 1 frame of a movie developed into a picture?

it's a gag gift for my dad. he and i are on a dvd, and there's one part where if i pause it, it would make a cool photo, but i have no idea how to go about this.

any help? am i making sense?

I've had individual slides made into a photograph before just by bringing it somewhere they develop film, but in your case you might look into a professional studio - or maybe someplace that can reproduce photos on different media such as VHS tapes to DVD etc?

i guess the easiest way would be to take a screen shot of it, put it on a CD go to cvs and get it printed as a photo.

pause it on your computer and take a screen shot, save it in paint as a jpg put it on a cd go to cvs, print as photo.

if you have a DVD player in your pc, pop it in there.

download VLC player (it's free) http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

open the movie in there, find scene, pause and use the "capture screenshot" (or something like that) function to get a high quality shot.
