I was just listening to the radio in the shower....was turning through the stations and it hit 98.7....a station here in Mesa, AZ that I've never listened to before. The commercials described it as "Soft rock from the 70s and 80s." So as I turn through I hear "Up next....Pearl Jam, Kenny Loggins..."

Wow. It caught me off guard. So I stayed in the shower past the 8 minutes of ads and "Daughter" comes on. Fair enough. But sure enough...just into the second "the shades go down" the song is prematurely cut off. And the DJ, some woman whos name I didn't catch, says this, I kid you not: "Yeah I dunno what he's saying either...haha" and starts the next song.

I was so mad that I stormed out of the shower and typed this message.

I hate when they play Pearl Jam on the radio and then follow it up with something terrible. It always happens to me and I always happen to have the radio turned up and then am forced to listen to "dixie's mignight runners" or something.

the question i have, is what did they expect when they played a 90s rock song on a 70s and 80s light rock station?

My buddies actually did this to some kid when they were in the Marines. My friend said something about Pinball Wizard, and this kid who had just finished basic was like, "Huh? What's that? I've never heard that before." So, my two friends looked at each other, then grabbed the kid, duct taped him to the chair, and put Pinball Wizard on repeat and left him there for a few hours. After that, every time they'd see him on base, they'd say, "Who sings Pinball Wizard?" and he'd go "The Who man! The Who!"

I like that song.

That always happens here too. The only station that plays PJ will play one of their songs and then play Creed right afterwards. :x Every single time.

You should be listening to Edge 103.9, it's the best station in the valley. They know their shit and don't step on or cut off songs.
