I saw it in a class my senior year in high school. It was interesting, but very boring to most people in the class. I think I would have really dug it on acid.

Sorry...heres the links which lead to synopses about the films....

http://www.koyaanisqatsi.org/films/koyaanisqatsi.php

http://www.koyaanisqatsi.org/films/powaqqatsi.php

http://www.koyaanisqatsi.org/films/naqoyqatsi.php

I havent seen the second or the third as yet but the firsts amazing...Baraka is better though, for my taste...it's a lot easier to watch in terms of editing & music.
Phillip Glass is a genius i'm sure but i find the best way to watch KOYAANISQATSI is to have the sound low or muted...
Some friends put it on at a big house party a while ago and after about 20 minutes, everyone was sitting down watching it, it stunned everyone there. So I guess you right about the Acid Punkdavid...
It's mostly just stock footage so a lot of it did appear on MTV back in the day (in europe for sure, maybe not in the US)

Gonna rent the second two this evening i think.

Strictly from a cinematic perspective, and in the context of visuals married to sound/music, these films are astounding.

In AP US History, almost my entire class was bored with Dr. Strangelove. We ended up watching Forrest Gump or something of that nature instead. High school students fail.

I've been meaning to rent this one for a while. I've seen a few clips of it in different classes, but never the whole thing. It's definitely interesting.

It's fairly indescribable. Get your friends aounds, have some beers and have it on muted in the corner..at its least it's a great visual, as a stand alone, watch it alone in the dark, it's mind blowing. One of those good but scary good films. Essential in many ways. Let me know how you get on, I hope you like it.

Still need to see this one. Love getting lost in movies like this.
