Are people really complaining about this year's single?
It may not exactly be two new Pearl Jam songs (Even though they sort of are), or awesome B-sides, but it's not some live cover we've all heard either. They're fun Christmas songs and I'm happy with them. This is the best X-mas single in years.
There are just people that like to bitch and complain about everything Pearl Jam does, it's not always the same people, but there is always those people that come out everytime Pearl Jam does something.
We'll always get the bitchers and complainers with everything that Pearl Jam does.

I'm happy and bummed. Happy that people are enjoying it and seemingly want cute holiday songs... Bummed that it isn't another "Strangest Tribe" or "Love Reign O'er Me." Now, this doesn't mean I'm losing sleep or anything. I'll get over it.
I'm really happy. It's something new, not available elsewhere, and it came (relatively) early. This years single is along the lines of Let Me Sleep, which many people think is great. To be hoping for something along the lines of Strangest Tribe is a great expectation, and not something that will probably not come along too frequently. A cover song is great, but for it to be new to us, it still requires studio time. If they're going to go in the studio, I'd prefer something new.
shit damn, a christmas single arrived in december.

I'm really liking the way the Ten Club didn't announce it and it just started to arrive at people's homes. That way people aren't bitching about the wait or not getting it yet. Props to 10c!

If it is the bands right to complain about the quality of the leadership in our country, it is certainly within the rights of the members of this community to complain about the quality of the purchased products from the fan club. Politely voicing displeasure is the civilized manner used to induce change - and I'm sure PJ can take a bit of constructive criticism regarding a sub-par offering.

Correct in theory. However the x-mass single is not a purchased good from their fan club and is technically a gift members get not something you buy with the inscription fee. And constructive criticism is the rarest thing on PJ forums to be fair.

I applaud the Ten Club on this monumentous achievement. A Christmas single in time for Christmas! H00rah!

On a related note, no, I do not plan on propagating the Santa myth to my children.
I feel like you have a societal obligation to lie to your kids about Santa, because if you're kids go to school and ruin it for someone else's kids, you're going to get kicked in the dick.
