why is it that people used to write a dash and then their name at the end of their posts?

--Sunny

--PunkDavid

etc.

why were people "signing" their name to their posts when it's fairly obvious who the post is from if you move your eyes slightly left? was this part of why the board was so grrrrrrrreat!? can someone explain?

grotojes,
denverapolis

(mirella of course is excluded from this)

Sincerely,
