Mine was because the screen name jimmac was taken on the AOL, it suggested putting a number at the end. I used 24 because I have always been #24 on sports teams. I decided to make life easy I'd use jimmac24 wherever I had to register a username.

that was the case for me, except i used 9 because i was 9 when i got that aol acct.
