Stewie awakens in "Hell", a red hotel room with a small television and a sign on the headboard of the bed saying "Welcome to Hell", where he is greeted by Steve Allen, who proclaims, "Okay, let's do this", and begins to get undressed. as it turns out, Steve Allen wanted Stewie to fix his shirt collar; however, Allen is damned to watch non-stop reruns of Who's the Boss?.
I'd have to go with Hellraiser too, although there hasn't been a good portrayal of hell yet, at least to my tastes. I guess it's impossible to truly represent something that doesn't exist anyway.
I hate those "apocalyptic scorched wastelands with faceless demons running amuck" portayals of hell. They're so medieval and juvenile. I think the bleaker the hell, the better.

I always viewed Hell as portrayed in the Hellraiser films as having an abstract quality, almost like "whatever hell would be to you", that's the form it's going to take. The Cenobites made eternal suffering personal.

Not a huge fan of the film, but "What Dreams May Come". That part when he finds his wife in that damp, dirty room. It wasn't this huge landscape of fire and madness but a psychological madness for the person involved. I like that.

Also, when Homer went across the River Styx (queue the STYX music) on an episode of the Simpsons. It was the one when they were re-enacting historical stories (ie - The Odyssey).

That Robin Williams movie where his wife commits suicide and he leaves heaven to rescue her had some cool depictions of purgatory and hell, but Constantine was more intense.
