Darrell Green Andre Tippett Fred Dean Emmitt Thomas (senior)
Gary Zimmerman
Art Monk
Redskins fans should be very happy today. I'm obviously happy for Zimmerman, but seeing Monk get in means that there is now a legitimate hope for Rod Smith getting in some day.
I'm absolutely stunned that Cris Carter wasn't a first balloter, though.

The Skins teams from the 80s-early 90s get no credit, until today of course. They won 3 Super Bowls in 7 years and had only one hall-of-famer previously (Riggins). Congrats to Art Monk and Darrell Green!!

Fred Dean and Andre Tippett over Richard Dent?
Complete bull shit
BTW, I wonder how many Patriots "fans" even know who Andre Tippett is...
I would imagine quite a few know who he is. Any reason why he doesn't belong in the Hall?
I didn't say that he didn't deserve to be in, but there is no way in hell that he deserves to be in over Dent. Dent had 37.5 more sacks than Tippett, and was the centerpiece of the greatest defense of all time. Not to mention that Dent had 8 interceptions as a DE, while Tippett only had 1 as a LB.

So happy that Tippett finally got in, he was long overdue. Mother of God, could the Hall finally be taking defensive players seriously?
In what alternate universe was Monk a better receiver than Carter?

Dent lead the league with 17 sacks, had 2 interceptions in the regular season. Then he had the greatest post season of any defensive player in history. 6 sacks and 3 fumbles forced in 3 games, and named super bowl mvp. Singletary was the best overall player throughout his career on that team, but Dent had the best season of anybody on the team in '85.

But Singetary was clearly designed to be the centerpiece of the D even if Dent had a better season. Rice had a better year and Super Bowl than Montana in 88, but Joe was still the centerpiece of the offense.
Whatever, I think Dent should've been in a long time ago.

Damn, I thought Andre Reed was getting in for sure
No chance this year. Too many people ahead of him. His best chance will come in 2 or 3 years, but if he doesn't make it in within that window, I think he's gonna have trouble getting in at all.

Carter beat him out, so Carter will most likely get in next year and then one could only hope after that as to no one else that was a great WR becomes eligible
