If you're talking about jobs similar to what Blackwater does, you should have some prior military training before considering it.
If you're considering an industry support job such as a construction contractor, you should be aware that you are not allowed to carry a weapon.
My husband applied with KBR, he sat in on the conference call with about 20 others to get specifics on the job, and after it was all said and done he decided it wasn't worth it after they told him he wasn't allowed to carry a handgun for protection.

id rather wear a hardhat than carry a gun as protection. shooting a beam or board that is falling on you isnt really going to do too much

oh for f*ck's sake... Wearing hard hats is a given. But a hard hat won't offer you a fighting chance from getting kidnapped and having your head lopped off.
