8 1/2 was technically wonderful, but story-wise i was uninterested.

i have some of his other films at home (dolce vita, strada, nights of cabiria). i'm not exactly in a rush to watch them, though i will eventually.

Anyway, don't be put off by his earlier stuff. As much as I dig I Vitelloni, La dolce vita, and 8 1/2 (La Strada doesn't do much for me), his post 8 1/2 work is where shit really gets good. Juliet of the Spirits, Roma, Ginger and Fred, Intervista, Casanova...all A grade films. And Fellini Satyricon...now that's just at a whole different level.

Fellini Satyricon is possibly the biggest rotting pile of feces I've ever seen.

the theme of 8 1/2 is one of my favorites. he's gotta huge budget behind a movie which he doesn't even know what the hell it is, and he's just stringing all these people along thinking its going to be his next work of genius. but he doesn't have a clue. i like it, hits home.

Don't worry, winded. Nobody thinks you're a genius.
