Remoulade is a good place for lunch and it's on Bourbon Street, and I'm sure you know to go to Cafe Du Monde. There is a place where the actual bar moves around in a circle, it may be in a hotel but I can't remember where. Of course there is Pat O'Briens, but I would just find any bar with a three for one special.

i was just there and had a great time. the best food i had was Indian at a place called Nirvana. Most of the bars i drank at were outside of the french quarter. I couldn't imagine spending more than one night drinking in the french quarter, unless you're looking for some pussy or something.

I just got back from a four day trip. It was absolutely awesome. New Orleans is one of the best (if not the best) cities in America, and anyone who says otherwise is an idiot.

Here's some stuff you should check out that I enjoyed:

French Quarter
The Red Fish Grill
K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen (and the bar down the street that I forget the name of)
Hotel Monteleone (that's the revolving bar)
Cafe du Monde

Garden District/Uptown
Camelia Grill (old school diner with a great waitstaff)
The Trolley Stop Cafe (great breakfast)
Igor's (classic dive bar)

The Marigny
Snug Harbor (the Marsalis' family's jazz club)
The Spotted Cat (packed little jazz spot, awesome music)

More in a second.

Have you been to Port of Call for a burger and baked potato? If not check it out it was pretty good, but there will probably be a wait for a table.

not far, maybe five miles. I stayed in the parish district. near Tulane.

I would definitely recommend hitting some bars in the Garden District.
