Report: Student Kills Self in Front of 150 Classmates at Alabama High School
An Alabama high school student walked into the school gym Thursday morning and shot himself in front of 150 other students, WKRG.com reported.
Jajuan Homes, 18, reportedly fired one shot into the ceiling of the gym at Davidson High School in Mobile before turning the revolver on himself as other students watched.

His future prospects weren't much better: He had three felony criminal charges on his record, and was looking at possibly spending years in prison.
"His life has been troubled," Tyson said. "Apparently, it all overwhelmed him today."
The Davidson High School senior walked into the school gymnasium Thursday morning and shot himself in the head in front of a crowd of students.
He wasn't supposed to be there, because he'd been suspended Wednesday for profanity, according to Roy Nichols, county schools superintendent.
Nichols said Holmes had cursed at a school official who had confronted him for inappropriate use of a cell phone. He said he was not sure how long that Holmes' suspension was supposed to last.
Holmes had indicated Wednesday night that he was going to hurt himself, according to police, who did not elaborate.
On Thursday, wearing his school uniform, Holmes was apparently able to blend in at the Davidson campus off Azalea Road.
Mobile County public schools do not have pass-through metal detectors, Nichols said. Security guards do keep hand-held wands, but check only students or others they suspect may be carrying a weapon, Nichols said.
Holmes had been a focus of media attention last month, following a string of robberies over seven days.
On Feb. 10, police arrested Holmes and another Davidson student on charges of robbing a Dairy Queen in west Mobile. The Dairy Queen night manager told the Press-Register last month that two shots were fired during the robbery.
"I was walking backward with my hands up," the night manager said. One of the robbers, "shot the gun right by my head," she said.
The Dairy Queen owner said that the robbers took about $1,650.
Holmes had also been charged in robberies at Arby's restaurant in the 3900 block of Government Boulevard at 5:45 p.m. on Feb. 9 and at the Circle K convenience store in the 800 block of Downtowner Boulevard on Feb. 3.
Holmes, who was free on $60,000 bond, was scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 24, according to court records.
Tyson said Thursday that he knew little about Holmes' family, and others in law enforcement provided few clues.
According to court records, Holmes' most-recent address was at the Cabana Apartments off Azalea Road, a short distance from Davidson.
On Thursday, other people at that apartment complex said they hadn't seen Holmes in a few months. They said they believed he had been living there with his brother, and that both had moved out.
Holmes had enjoyed some success in school and was a member of the JROTC, Tyson said. But, he said, "It all came to a bitter end this morning."
