Who watched this after the Super Bowl?? I couldn't find any threads on it...and I'd liek to hear what you guys thought...especially the Family Guy fans...

it definitely is very similar to the way family guy operates, although many less pop culture references (which is good, leave that to family guy)...but overall some funny moments..when the kid rode the buffalo, the fish was funny, the alien was great as well...definitely gets me excited for may 1st to roll around..

It was funny, but not as funny as I expected. Family Guy is better.

For those of you who are Family Guy fans, has that show gotten significantly better since the first season? I see a lot of fans of that show here and elsewhere, but I watched most of the first season, and I thought it was just bad. Mainly I felt that it lacked any subtlety, and I felt that the jokes were either "anvil to the head" or otherwise I could see them coming from a mile away. It was a dumbed down Simpsons with cruder language and a talking dog.

So am I missing something, or are my comedic tastes just too refined these days?

The show did get better every season although i didn't sense too much weakness in the first season. The language is cruder but i wouldn't say it's a "dumbed down" Simpsons. It's just more in your face and they don't pull punches as much as The Simpsons. The risks lead to more laughs from me. I like when a show pushes the envelope, that's why i find South park so good.

Thats exactly what its supposed to be actually. Seth said it himself.

I haven't seen it yet but I taped it. Is it just the trailer? I've seen that before, but I am hoping theres more to it than what has been out for a while. Was it a full 20 minute show?

Family Guy will always be the best, i think

It was alright. Nothing spectacular. The Simpsons episode that preceded it was fucking TERRIBLE.

I liked it for a pilot. I don't think the first episode will be as funny as the later ones since I think this was just used to introduce a lot of the characters. Some of them will take some getting used to. The Dad is cool though.

Not as cool as Family Guy yet, but it could be. At least there was a lot of action in the first episode.

The bit with the 19 year old dog had me laughing pretty hard. Especially when it lifted its leg and the father was like "Oh god! He's gonna pee!" He ducks and a little dust cloud comes out of the dog.
