I think I am in love, and her name is Raising Your Voice...Trying to Stop an Echo. :heartbeat:

I just discovered this band and I must say that I am very moved.

I want to climb a mountain, pack an iPod and bring along Hammock for the journey. I can't even imagine what it'd be like listening to that album while looking down on creation by myself.

One of those ambient CDs that I listen to for much more than background music.

That album was I think #8 on my 2006 list.

I love them. Their other album, Kenotic is just as great as "Raising..."

I purchased Kenotic as well but I was instantly drawn to Raising so I spent most of the next few days listening to it when possible. I don't sleep well, as with many of us I would presume, so I get up very early to jog on most days. This music was quite a companion as the sun was coming up and I was just about the only human stirring at that moment. Very therapeutic.

Did you listen to that album, I think it is the Sleepover Sessions or something like that? I should probably revisit that, last time I listened I recall not liking it.

Will You Ever Love Yourself? may be the greatest song I've ever heard in my life.

I've been listening to not Hammock specifically, but a lot of similar ambient stuff recently. There is a lot of good stuff out there.

That makes a lot of sense, since you like stuff like Yndi Halda, Caspian, and Mono so much. It's kind of pointless to try to decide which is better, because we are talking about some of the best albums of the decade here. Max Richter, Tim Hecker, Hammock are all in my top 50 of the decade, easily.

I must say, I'm a bit dissapointed with the new album. Perhaps I just need to give it more time to digest.
