This cd is breathtaking. Two 30 min songs (appx) that remains interesting throughout. Upon searching I see Timber had it at Number 2 of 2007 and for good reason. I'd been sitting on this download for awhile. It's electronic in nature, but it has a lot of the classical instrumentation. GYBE like violins at points, driving drums during crescendos, electronic jarring and noise. Extremely interesting listen.

so cool to see a thread on this. it feels like an electronic ambient record with exceptional piano parts in the quieter sections, but there's more crescendos in these two songs than i count and it often goes into this frenzy of jazzy glitch-electronic drums with layers of guitar, piano and violin. yet both pieces have a very distinct melodic feel and wonderfully natural flow to them.

world's end girlfriend sounds pretty much like him. he released an album last year called hurtbreak wonderland which isn't as good as program music but well worth checking out if you like this one.

When the beginning kicks in after the swirling noise is amazing. The layers start kicking in. The acoustic guitar (i think). Piano. So wonderful.

I actually listened to it today but it was while I was passed out after surgery. OLO. I'm gonna listen again, obviously. I think I heard some awesome stuff through the haze but I'm not sure. :D

EastHastings, go read my Lykathea Aflame thread.

Your LA thread is basically the same as this except with the names swapped and "electronic" switched for techdeath

new song I think.

Old parts of daisuke mixed with Venetian Snares fuck outs. Pretty god damn sweet. A choir chopped over frantic beats ala VS, strings and funky bass chopped in.

Two things that really annoy me:

1. When artists release a new song. I don't care about 1 song. Just let me know when there is a full album.

2. When artists have one successful album and then follow that success with a bunch of remixes or otherwise unoriginal material. Just work on a fucking album!

Blargh!

I didn't mean he literally took "old parts" and remixed it. I just mean the Daisuke sound he made on the first record.

Criticism without listening is great. I kind of assumed you didn't listen to many other folks recommendations.
